Roots to Fruits is a community forum setup for the purpose of sharing information and knowledge that will lead to personal growth. The community is intended to empower people of African and Caribbean descent by nurturing the root mindset required to improve upon the current economic status, family stability and influence. The inspiration for the group comes from Matthew 13v3-9, 18-23: Mark 4v3-9, 14-20 and Luke 8v5-8, 11-15, where Jesus tells a parable about a farmer sowing seed. Some of the seeds fall on a footpath and is quickly eaten by birds, some of the seeds fall on shallow soil, the plants spring up quickly but they wilt beneath the sun because they do not have deep roots. Some of the seeds fall amongst thorns they begin to grow but are choked to death by the thorns, before they reach maturity. The remaining seeds fall on fertile soil where the crops multiply, 30, 60 and 100 times. If things are going well for you in areas of your life, your input will be invaluable, sharing your journey and the lessons you learnt along the way will reinforce the collective knowledge and wisdom of the group. If on the other hand you feel that you always miss that promotion, that job, that opportunity and/or your children are not doing as well as you hoped they would, you put one step forward and circumstances leave you standing still or two steps backwards. This may be because your roots are not deep enough to support your ambitions. Roots to Fruits will share knowledge and experiences in order to nurture your roots so that when you are faced with adversity (like the sun coming up and shining hotly on you) you are able to withstand it, use it to your advantage and bear fruits because your roots, are strong, deep and watered by shared knowledge and experiences. To join you need to be introduced by an existing member. Roots to Fruits meets occasionally to impart tools to support personal growth. The blog is used for support, to share experiences and to communicate with each other.
The only currency we trade in is your time. We do however encourage you to support our self-help causes. Click the roots foundation link for further information.
Roots to Fruits is about learning and sharing, the forum is founded upon respect, respect for each other and respect for the wider community. Although the group is founded on Christianity, everyone who shares our ethos is welcome.
